Who are we? - We are a team of technicians/engineers who work at CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research), the worlds largest particle physics centre, based in Geneva, Switzerland. |

Ali Day - TS/CSE/CO - is a glorified tea boy at CERN, who sometimes gets asked to design and manage the installation of supervisory control systems and look after the odd contract or two. He arrived at CERN in 2000 having spent 10 years working on and offshore for Shell and DuPont Conoco on instrumentation and control systems. Not known for his slight frame and tact, is in the team for the 'bull in the china' shop approach to dismantling equipment and finesse engineering. Ali has spent most of his life in Norfolk, apart from 8 years in Scotland. Engaged to Nadia, they will be getting married April 2005. |

David McFarlane - TS/LEA/DES - is responsible for the gas distribution systems of the new LHC (Large Hadron Collider) experiment. Usually though he can be seen arguing with physicists about his pipe work. He arrived at CERN in 1999 and prior to that also worked offshore with Ali for Shell. Ali and David have known each other for almost ten years and it is his fault that Ali was inflicted on the European Community after persuading him to move out there. David "no sugar in my coffee, I'm sweet enough" is on the team for his dazzling wit and brains, and is actually proud of the fact he once completed 'The Sun' crossword. Born in Scotland, but raised in Norfolk, he has lived since then in both Aberdeen and Bradford before moving to Geneva, married to Hannah has two children Megan and Robert. |

Jimmy Ridewood - AB/OP/SPS - is an operator on the SPS (Super Proton Synchrotron) who likes nothing more than to watch particles going round very fast. He served his apprenticeship on nuclear reactors with British Nuclear Fuels Ltd at Sizewell. This was followed by a brief sojourn in Turin, Italy playing with lasers for Agilent, before coming to CERN in 2002. Jimmy comes from deepest darkest Suffolk, and has webbed feet. He is currently single. *NEWS* Following Jimmy's boost into superstardom, he is now dating one of his stalkers and has left a trail of heart broken teenagers (boys and girls) in his wake. |

Jimmy has a passion for uncomfortable, leaky, unreliable, British sports cars and can usually be seen flying up mountains in his Lotus. David drives a Ferrari 308 GTS replica with a 2.8 V6 engine in it, that has been over 70mph once since he has bought it. Ali feels inadequate and drives a BMW convertible. |
